Brickell — Miami's skyline, restaurant, and rooftop core.
Mainland Miami's high-rise neighborhood. No beach, but the city's best dinner density, the strongest rooftop scene, and the right base for a non-beach Miami trip.
Brickell is what people picture when they think "Miami skyline." High-rises, a stack of restaurants, rooftop bars on most blocks, and easy access to both PortMiami and Miami International. The beach is a 15-minute ride away, which is either a feature or a bug depending on the trip.
What Brickell is good for
- Restaurant-led trips and food-forward weekends
- Couples and adult groups
- Sports, concerts, and arena events (Kaseya Center is one ride north)
- Business travel that also wants a real evening
- Pre-cruise stays with a strong dinner the night before
What Brickell isn't
- A beach neighborhood
- A walkable connection to Miami Beach (it's a causeway away)
- The default first-time-visitor base — that's still South Beach for most
Where Brickell fits in a trip
Either as the main base for a restaurant-and-rooftop weekend, or as a 1–2 night add-on to a Miami Beach stay. Pre- or post-cruise nights work especially well here — see Miami cruise stopover.
Questions travelers ask us
- Is Brickell good for visitors?
- Yes, if you came for restaurants, rooftops, and a skyline trip rather than a beach trip. It's also the right base before a cruise.
- Is there a beach in Brickell?
- No. Brickell is mainland Miami — no beach. A beach day from Brickell is a 15–20 minute ride to Miami Beach.
- Is Brickell walkable?
- Within Brickell, yes. Restaurants, rooftops, Brickell City Centre, and the river are all walkable. Outside Brickell, you'll rideshare.
- Is Brickell good for couples?
- One of the better couple's bases — dinner density, rooftop bars, and a more grown-up evening pace than South Beach.
